Every year the same question lands on someone's desk in November: where are we having the Christmas party? If your team is somewhere between ten and sixty people and you want something better than another roast and a paper hat, Masti on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy is built for exactly this.
We are an Indian restaurant run by Chef Manpreet Sekhon, the Curry Queen, with a live clay tandoor, a bar full of Indian-inspired cocktails and single malts, and food that is made for sharing. Here is how a Christmas party at Masti works, whatever the size of your group.
Groups of 10 to 30: shared Christmas set menus
For most teams, our shared set menus are the easiest way to do it. Platters land in the middle of the table and everyone digs in, which gets people talking far quicker than individual plates ever will.
There are two set menus for groups of four or more: Veg at $59 per person and Non-Veg at $69 per person. Both include entrées, curries, naan, rice, raita and gulab jamun to finish. Mixed groups are easy — vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are built into every menu, so nobody ends up with a sad side salad.

Groups of 30 to 60: take over the whole restaurant
If you would rather have the place to yourselves, exclusive hire of Masti is $2,999. That covers food for up to 60 guests, unlimited soft drinks, our house DJ and table setup. Your team gets the whole room, the neon, the music and a feast from the tandoor — and no other diners to worry about when the speeches start.
Exclusive hire works brilliantly for end-of-year parties, team celebrations and client thank-yous. Drinks from the bar — cocktails, wine, beer and Indian single malts such as Rampur, Amrut and Indri — can be added to suit your budget.
Why an Indian feast works for a Christmas party
It is made for sharing. Chaat, momos, tandoori and curries go in the middle of the table. It breaks the ice in a way a plated three-course menu can't.
Every diet is covered. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options sit across the whole menu, including Melbourne's only freshly baked gluten-free vegan naan. Our meat is halal-sourced. Let us know dietary needs when you book and we will look after every guest.
The drinks are sorted. Our Indian-inspired cocktails are a talking point on their own, and the bar has wine, beer and a proper range of Indian single malts.
It is easy to get to. Masti is on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy — Tram 11 stops at the door and the CBD is about fifteen minutes away. There is an off-street car park about 200 metres away on Rose Street.
