Today, Masti Fitzroy stands as one of Melbourne’s best Indian dining experiences, known for its inventive cocktails, vibrant ambience, and a menu that blends the roots of India with the soul of Fitzroy.
The restaurant is the latest creation from Chef Manpreet Sekhon, the visionary behind Eastern Spice Geelong. Nestled in the heart of this trendy inner-city suburb, Masti brings a fresh and playful twist to authentic Indian cuisine, combining traditional flavours with contemporary flair. Step inside and you’ll find the wooden-top bar ready to hold your drink, textured patterned chairs waiting to be warmed, and a hand-painted mural inviting conversation. Following in the footsteps of its Geelong sibling, the new venue emulates Eastern Spice’s laid-back and light-hearted atmosphere. With each visit, you’ll be greeted by a glowing red neon sign that perfectly sets the tone for your dining experience.
In the kitchen, Chef Sekhon — affectionately known in Geelong as the “Curry Queen” — leads the way. Fans of Eastern Spice will be delighted to find many familiar favourites on the Masti menu, including the Scallop Coconut Curry, Crab Tikka, and Green Chilli Naan. There’s also an expanded vegan and vegetarian offering, featuring dishes like Chickpea Vindaloo, Honey Chilli Cauliflower, and Masti’s soon-to-be-famous Vegan Naan.
